A nationally recognized engineering and infrastructure consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior CEI Project Engineer to lead construction engineering and inspection efforts on major transportation projects throughout Florida's Panhandle region.

The Opportunity
As a Senior CEI Project Engineer, you will serve as the leader of large-scale construction engineering and inspection teams, overseeing quality assurance, contract compliance, project delivery, and client relationships on complex transportation infrastructure projects.
You'll play a critical role in directing inspectors, engineers, survey personnel, and materials staff while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with FDOT standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary CEI teams on major roadway and bridge construction projects
- Serve as the primary point of contact between project stakeholders, contractors, and agency personnel
- Direct quality assurance and quality control programs across multiple construction activities
- Review, evaluate, and resolve challenging technical and contractual issues
- Oversee construction inspection, materials testing, surveying, scheduling, and project documentation activities
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, FDOT standards, and contract requirements
- Manage project performance, staff assignments, and deliverables
- Mentor and develop inspectors, engineers, and project staff
- Support project planning, risk management, and successful project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 6+ years of transportation construction experience on major roadway and bridge projects
- Experience leading complex CEI programs and supervising engineering and inspection teams
- Strong knowledge of FDOT construction administration procedures and standards
- FDOT Advanced MOT certification preferred
- CTQP Quality Control Manager certification (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills
- Strong understanding of highway construction methods, materials, and transportation engineering principles
- Valid driver's license
