An established, family-owned electrical contractor is seeking a Chief Electrical Estimator to lead its estimating function and support continued growth.
The company generates $75M+ in annual revenue, employs approximately 400 people, and delivers complex electrical projects across Massachusetts, Connecticut and the wider Northeast.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for:
- Managing estimates from initial scope review through final submission.
- Leading, mentoring and developing the estimating team.
- Reviewing drawings and specifications to identify scope, risk and opportunity.
- Overseeing take-offs, pricing, value engineering and bid strategy.
- Conducting scope reviews and presentations with clients.
- Collaborating with operations, business development and senior leadership.
- Improving estimating processes and supporting business growth.
Project Experience
The company delivers work across:
- Healthcare and life sciences
- Commercial and industrial facilities
- Hospitality and large multifamily
- Design-build projects
- Distribution, robotics and automated facilities
Projects range from fast-moving $5M to $10M electrical packages to major projects exceeding $70M. Conveyor or automation experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Extensive estimating experience with an electrical subcontractor.
- Experience as a Chief, Lead or Senior Electrical Estimator.
- The ability to manage complex bids from start to finish.
- Experience across multiple commercial and industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, labour and materials.
- Experience leading and developing estimators.
- Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills.
- Previous electrical field experience.
- A collaborative, growth-focused leadership style.
Candidates who have previously operated their own electrical contracting business may also be considered if they have relevant large-project experience.
Working Arrangements and Culture
This is primarily a five-day, office-based position in Massachusetts, with occasional flexibility when required.
The company offers a collaborative, family-oriented culture with exceptionally low turnover across its wider management team. It is seeking someone who can provide technical leadership, develop a cohesive estimating department and build strong client relationships.
Compensation: Competitive base salary, annual performance bonus, company vehicle and additional benefits based on experience.
