Civil Engineer - Water Resources (Junior Level)

About the Role
We're seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with a background in water resources to join our growing team in the Oakland area. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with a few years of hands-on experience who is looking to take on more responsibility, work on varied and meaningful projects, and grow within a collaborative, supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, design, and analysis of water resources projects, including stormwater management, drainage systems, flood control, and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, and design drawings under the guidance of senior engineers
- Assist with permitting documentation and regulatory compliance submittals
- Perform site assessments and field investigations as needed
- Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, and clients on project deliverables
- Use industry-standard software for hydraulic and hydrologic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar)
- Contribute to proposal preparation and business development efforts as opportunities arise
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering
- EIT certification required; progress toward PE license preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with local and state regulatory requirements related to water resources (a plus)
