Position Overview
The Design Division Director is a senior leadership position responsible for guiding a major division within the design organization. This individual will oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams, strategic client programs, operational performance, and long-term organizational initiatives supporting data center and mission-critical projects.
Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Design Division Director will play a key role in shaping business strategy, driving operational excellence, developing future leaders, and strengthening relationships with key clients. This position requires a balance of strategic vision, business leadership, and operational execution while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute long-term divisional strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead major initiatives that drive growth, operational performance, and market competitiveness.
- Partner with executive leadership to influence organizational direction, structure, and priorities.
- Champion change management efforts and cultivate a high-performing team environment.
Operational Leadership
- Provide guidance on significant operational and business decisions.

Client & Market Development
- Serve as an executive-level relationship leader for strategic clients.
- Support business development efforts and strengthen the firm's presence within the data center and mission-critical markets.
- Identify emerging industry trends and align internal capabilities to meet evolving client needs.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop growth strategies and expand market share.
Technology & Innovation
- Promote the adoption of technology and digital transformation initiatives across the division.
- Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to support planning and business decisions.
- Ensure technology investments align with operational and strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant experience within engineering, construction, mission-critical infrastructure, or related industries.
- Prior experience leading large teams, departments, business units, or multidisciplinary organizations.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, operational leadership, and organizational growth.
- Experience managing budgets, resource forecasting, and financial performance.
- Strong business development and client relationship management experience.
- Ability to influence executive stakeholders and collaborate across multiple business functions.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Comfortable working successfully in a remote environment.
Travel
- Approximately 15% travel throughout the United States for client meetings, business development activities, project oversight, and industry events.
