Electrical Engineer - Waste/Wastewater
Position Summary
We're hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Water Solutions team in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves leading electrical design and construction support for water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the West Coast region. You'll manage project schedules and budgets, provide technical guidance, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in power distribution systems, instrumentation, and controls, along with experience in client-facing roles and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering efforts for water infrastructure projects, including planning, design, and construction support.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and staffing requirements.
- Provide technical oversight on electrical systems, including medium and low-voltage distribution, VFDs, and backup generators.
- Review supplier submittals and coordinate with utilities on technical requirements.
- Support startup and commissioning of major electrical equipment.
- Act as liaison between local and remote design teams for instrumentation and control systems.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve construction-related electrical issues.
- Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for expanded services.
- Stay current with industry standards and continuously develop technical expertise.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in AZ or ability to obtain.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical design and construction support.
- Familiarity with power system analysis tools (SKM, ETAP).
- Strong understanding of PLC hardware/software, SCADA systems, and instrumentation.
Preferred:
- Water/Wastewater consulting experience.
- Business development experience in engineering services.
Compensation
