About the Opportunity
We're supporting a well-established, self-performing heavy civil contractor in the Louisville market to identify an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent. This leader will run field operations for DOT roadway, bridge, and utility scopes-driving safety, quality, schedule, and cost from mobilization through closeout.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily field operations across roadway, bridge, utilities, MSE walls, demolition/site prep, and concrete/structures.
- Build two-to-three week look-aheads; sequence crews, equipment, and trucking to meet production goals.
- Enforce safety programs and traffic control (MOT) within active work zones.
- Coordinate inspectors, testing agencies, and third parties to maintain spec compliance.
- Oversee QA/QC, punch, turnover, and closeout documentation through final acceptance.
- Track productivity, labor/equipment hours, and quantities; complete accurate daily reports and photos.
- Collaborate with Project Management on schedule updates, change documentation, and subcontractor coordination.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years leading heavy civil/roadway/bridge work as a Superintendent, Senior Foreman, or Field Supervisor.
- Proven delivery on DOT projects (interstates/interchanges, bridge rehab/new, culverts/box structures).
- Hands-on background with MSE wall construction, MOT/traffic phasing, and concrete/utility interfaces.
- Strong crew leadership, planning, and subcontractor coordination under tight traffic/schedule windows.
- Proficiency with daily reporting and production tracking (Procore or similar a plus).
- Valid driver's license; ability to support regional work around Louisville.
- Local/regional candidates preferred.

Schedule & Travel
