About The Company
A rapidly growing multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join its expanding team. The organization has experienced significant growth over the past two years and continues to secure a diverse portfolio of projects, with a strong focus on federal, government, and commercial facilities.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of building system projects while collaborating with experienced engineers, architects, contractors, and clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of HVAC and plumbing systems and will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems for commercial and government facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems.
- Develop design sketches, layouts, plans, and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design solutions.
- Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction surveys.
- Prepare technical reports, narratives, specifications, and project documentation.
- Select and specify equipment and system components for construction projects.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, and contractors throughout project execution.
- Review and produce technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Track project progress and maintain design documentation.
- Mentor and support junior-level mechanical engineers.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (AE background preferred).
- 2-5 years of experience in mechanical building systems design.
- Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, or government facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- LEED Accreditation or sustainability-related credentials.
- Experience working on federal or government projects.
