About the Opportunity

A leading heavy civil and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee complex water and wastewater construction projects throughout the Willamette Valley and Pacific Northwest. This individual will be responsible for leading project teams, managing client relationships, driving financial performance, and ensuring the successful execution of treatment plant, pump station, and underground utility projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage water and wastewater construction projects from award through completion.
  • Oversee project financials, forecasting, budgeting, and cost controls.
  • Manage Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and support staff.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and resource plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, and key stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts, change orders, and vendor agreements.
  • Monitor project risk and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and contractual requirements.
  • Support business development efforts and participate in pursuit strategies for upcoming opportunities.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on project performance, schedules, and profitability.

Experience Needed

  • 10+ years of construction project management experience within the heavy civil or water/wastewater industry.
  • Proven experience managing projects valued between $20M and $200M+.
  • Extensive experience with one or more of the following:
    • Water Treatment Plants
    • Wastewater Treatment Plants
    • Pump Stations
    • Lift Stations
    • Biosolids Facilities
    • Large-Diameter Pipelines
    • Underground Utilities
    • CMAR Projects
    • Design-Build Projects
  • Experience managing multiple project teams and large field operations simultaneously.
  • Strong background working with municipal owners, utility districts, and public agencies.
  • History of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Experience leading contract negotiations, change order management, and claims resolution.

Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Strong understanding of water/wastewater construction means and methods.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project scheduling, cost controls, forecasting, and construction accounting principles.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar construction management software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior project management staff.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and contract administration.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
