Our client is a US based privately owned, smaller to mid-sized, engineering services firm that has been responsible for supporting clean energy, data center and power infrastructure projects across the country & globally. Their team combines technical excellence with a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture, allowing engineers to have a direct impact on project execution, client relationships, and the continued growth of the business.

We have an exciting opening for an electrical engineer with a background in substation projects that is ready to combine their technical engineering & project leadership roles in a position where they will be managing & leading the deliverables for substation projects including projects focused on renewable energy interconnections, switch yards, transmission, and data centers.

Position Overview:

  • Serve as a key technical and project delivery leader for high-voltage substation projects ranging from design to client interface. This individual will possess a strong engineering background in substation design (or P&C) while also excelling in project coordination, client management, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys technical engineering work but also thrives in a role that requires leadership, communication, and ownership of project deliverables.
  • Own project deliverables, schedules, budgets, and engineering resource planning.
  • Coordinate internal engineering teams and subject matter experts across multiple disciplines.
  • Act as the support point of contact for developers, utilities, IPPs, EPCs, and other clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in electrical engineering (masters degree a plus)
  • Minimum 4 years from a US based engineering firm, consultancy, utility, etc.
  • Previous substation engineering experience -- including at least one of the following: substation physical design, substation protection & control design, electrical engineering (broader substations, power systems, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in a role where you've done technical engineering but are comfortable in a people/client facing role where you'll be coordinating/managing design reviews, processes, etc.
  • PE License preferred but not required.

*Must be based in North America for consideration.
