Location: Tampa, Orlando, or Fully Remote (Florida)
A growing engineering consulting firm is looking to add a Drainage Technical Manager to support transportation and infrastructure projects across Florida. This is a senior-level opportunity for a Florida PE who enjoys staying involved in the technical work while also mentoring staff, managing projects, and helping guide the growth of a drainage team.
Responsibilities
- Lead drainage and stormwater design efforts for FDOT and municipal transportation projects.
- Oversee hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, drainage studies, and construction plan production.
- Provide technical leadership and quality control for project deliverables.
- Mentor junior engineers and support the development of the drainage team.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and client coordination.
- Collaborate with roadway, bridge, environmental, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Support proposals, pursuits, and occasional business development efforts.
Qualifications
- Florida PE license required.
- 10+ years of drainage, water resources, or transportation engineering experience.
- Strong background in stormwater management, hydraulic modeling, and drainage design.
- Experience with FDOT and/or municipal projects.
- Proficiency with tools such as HEC-RAS, ORD, PCSWMM, Civil 3D, and related drainage software.
- Previous project leadership and mentoring experience preferred.
