With continued investment in their Tennessee Water & Environment practice, they are seeking an experienced Tennessee Water Market Leader to lead client growth, strategic business development, and project delivery across the Nashville market.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an established water industry professional with a proven track record of winning work, developing client relationships, and leading large-scale municipal infrastructure programmes.
The Opportunity
As a key member of the leadership team, you will help drive the growth and strategic direction of the Tennessee Water & Environment business while serving as a trusted advisor to municipal clients throughout the region.
This role combines business development, client leadership, project oversight, and team management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building lasting client relationships whilst influencing the future of a growing practice.
Projects may include:
- Water treatment facilities
- Wastewater treatment facilities
- Pump stations
- Water conveyance systems
- Stormwater infrastructure
- Master planning and capital improvement programmes
- Utility studies and strategic planning projects
You will serve as a senior client contact, lead major pursuits, support project delivery teams, and help shape the long-term growth strategy for the Tennessee market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts across Tennessee's municipal water and wastewater market.
- Develop and implement client account strategies to strengthen existing relationships and secure new opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key utility and municipal clients.
- Identify, position for, and win major planning, design, and infrastructure projects.
- Lead strategic pursuits, proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Manage business development budgets, client engagement activities, and market growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with operational and market leaders to support regional growth strategies.
- Provide executive-level oversight to project managers and delivery teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered successfully from both client and business perspectives.
- Support scope development, fee proposals, schedules, and resource planning.
- Coordinate teaming partnerships and strategic collaborations for major pursuits.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop technical professionals and future leaders.
- Participate in industry organisations, conferences, and community leadership activities to strengthen market presence.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence.
- Significant experience within the water, wastewater, stormwater, or utility infrastructure sector.
- Demonstrated success winning and delivering municipal infrastructure projects.
- Strong business development, client management, and leadership capabilities.
- Experience leading teams and managing complex client relationships.
Preferred:
- 12+ years of experience within the water and environmental consulting industry.
- Established reputation and network within the Tennessee municipal market.
- Proven track record of securing large planning, study, conveyance, water, wastewater, or stormwater projects.
- Experience managing highly profitable projects with strong client satisfaction outcomes.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to identify innovative solutions for complex infrastructure challenges.
- Previous experience overseeing project managers and leading practice growth initiatives.
