A growing renewable energy engineering and project delivery firm is seeking a Utility-Scale Electrical Engineer to play a key role in expanding its utility-scale solar and energy storage division. This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside senior project leadership and help shape the technical standards, engineering processes, and project execution strategy for a rapidly growing business unit.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both hands-on design work and the opportunity to influence the direction of a growing utility-scale platform.
What You'll Do
- Lead electrical engineering efforts for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects from development through commissioning
- Partner closely with Project Managers to establish and grow the company's utility-scale project portfolio
- Provide engineering leadership on projects spanning conceptual design through construction support
- Perform and review AC and DC system designs, single-line diagrams, collection systems, equipment layouts, and interconnection-related deliverables
- Conduct engineering studies, calculations, and technical analyses
- Coordinate with utilities, consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and project stakeholders
- Review and approve engineering deliverables while maintaining quality and design standards
- Support procurement activities, equipment selection, and technical due diligence
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of engineering best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in utility-scale solar, BESS, power generation, or renewable energy engineering
- Strong understanding of power systems, electrical design, and renewable energy technologies
- Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP, SKM, or similar tools
- Knowledge of NEC, utility interconnection requirements, and industry standards
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with project teams and clients
