Controls Systems Engineer

Overview:

A growing engineering firm in Milford, CT is seeking an experienced Control System Design Engineer to lead the electrical design and configuration of boiler combustion control systems, burner management systems, and related balance-of-plant control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of SCADA systems using Proficy iFIX.
  • Creation of control system wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.
  • Programming of Allen Bradley Logix series PLCs and touchscreen operator interfaces.
  • Configuration of various loop controllers.
  • Review of project specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Selection and specification of instrumentation for flow, pressure, and temperature measurement.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team.
  • Prepare submittals, training materials, test reports, and O&M manuals.
  • Support control system fabrication, commissioning, and startup activities, including regional travel for factory and field testing in collaboration with field service engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of SCADA system design experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of PLC programming experience.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Background in instrumentation and control system integration.
  • Proven ability to meet project goals, objectives, and deadlines.
  • Experience with combustion, boiler, or burner systems is a plus.
