Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the on-site or liaison engineer for transportation infrastructure projects funded by local or government agencies
- Lead and mentor inspection teams, including engineers, inspectors, and documentation staff
- Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and the public
- Oversee all phases of construction, including demolition, utility installation, traffic management, signal installation, and roadway paving
- Ensure compliance with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
- Supervise work assignments and monitor team performance
- Conduct regular progress meetings with stakeholders and contractors
- Assist in resolving design, field, and scheduling issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois
- Minimum 7 years of construction engineering experience
- Strong leadership skills and ability to foster collaboration
- Certification in project documentation standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
