Site/Civil Office Lead

An established engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to lead its newly established Civil Engineering division. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of civil engineering projects, including conceptual, preliminary, and final design for residential, industrial, commercial, and community solar farm developments across Illinois.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed work plans, cost estimates, and project proposals.
  • Manage civil engineering projects from inception through completion.
  • Ensure compliance with zoning, land development, and site planning regulations.
  • Design grading, drainage, and utility systems (storm, sanitary, and water).
  • Perform stormwater management calculations and design erosion control measures.
  • Oversee pavement design and related infrastructure planning.
  • Maintain client relationships and manage communications from proposal to construction.
  • Mentor and supervise technical and field staff.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and drafting.
  • Apply knowledge of surveying principles and ADA/building code requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive design and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies for plan review and permitting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Illinois.
  • 10-15+ years of relevant civil engineering design experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to client service and technical excellence.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $110,000 - $200,000 annually
