Responsibilities
Design and Technical Leadership
- Develop and deliver structural designs that meet applicable codes and standards
- Apply engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including calculations and specifications
- Conduct field investigations and interpret data to inform design decisions
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring quality and timeliness
Project Management
- Coordinate project schedules and deliverables in collaboration with senior staff
- Support project planning, execution, and milestone tracking
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and funding applications
Client Engagement
- Maintain professional communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Understand client objectives and ensure alignment with project outcomes
- Participate in project meetings and provide clear, concise updates
Mentorship and Team Development
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technical staff
- Foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous learning and improvement
Documentation and Administrative Support
- Ensure proper organization and retention of project communications and documentation
- Accurately record time, progress, and completion metrics in project management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in structural engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to conduct field inspections and site visits
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
