Commissioning Specialist

The Commissioning Specialist plays a key role in managing projects of varying sizes and complexities. This role offers the opportunity to work independently on smaller assignments while receiving mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals on more complex initiatives. Responsibilities include supporting or leading commissioning activities such as developing commissioning plans, conducting design reviews, preparing job progress reports, performing pre-functional and functional performance testing, managing project closeout, and compiling final reports. The position provides a clear career development path and structured training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in one or more of the following areas: MEP design, construction administration, commissioning, building operations, test and balance, or controls systems.
  • Familiarity with building codes, construction procurement processes, and design development.
  • Commissioning certification preferred (e.g., ACG CxT, CxA, or equivalent).
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • LEED accreditation is a plus.
  • Proficiency with relevant computer hardware, software, and networking tools.
  • Ability to perform commissioning and retro-commissioning tasks including:
    • Commissioning plan development
    • Design reviews
    • Job progress reporting
    • Pre-functional and functional testing
    • Project closeout and final report preparation
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • Working knowledge in MEP systems
