Building Envelope Project Manager
Building Enclosure - PM
I'm working with a highly respected building enclosure consulting firm that has been delivering exterior envelope design, assessment, and construction-phase services for more than 30 years. The firm supports clients across K-12 and higher education, municipal facilities, commercial and corporate real estate, and sports venues, and is known for combining technical rigor with a collaborative, client-focused approach.
They are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical expertise with client interaction and is interested in long-term career growth within a well-established consulting environment.
The Role
The Project Manager will maintain a comprehensive understanding of building enclosure assessment and delivery requirements, including forensic investigations, documentation, and building commissioning. The role involves preparing asset management and building envelope reports aligned with client standards, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants, and supporting senior leadership initiatives. There is also an opportunity to cross-train into a more client-facing, executive-level role over time.
What You'll Be Doing
- Stay current with industry testing standards such as AAMA and ASTM
- Pursue ongoing professional certifications and technical training related to building enclosure systems
- Apply applicable codes and standards in technical documentation
- Oversee contract implementation during construction phases and participate in field activities
- Develop and apply Owner Project Requirements (OPR) in alignment with client standards
- Review and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP construction documents
- Identify deficiencies, conflicts, or gaps in contract documents and recommend solutions
- Support the development of proposals, contracts, and technical scopes of work
What the Firm Is Looking For
- Five or more years of experience drafting construction documents for an architectural, engineering, or building envelope consulting firm, or equivalent experience overseeing building envelope installation
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements or willingness to obtain certification
- Strong communication skills with consultants, field personnel, and client executives
- A client-service mindset with demonstrated relationship management skills
- Familiarity with RFP/RFQ processes and construction contract language
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience managing building envelope documentation across all project phases
- Willingness to travel within the regional market
- Physical ability to work on active construction sites, including climbing ladders, working at heights over 10 feet, and lifting materials exceeding 30 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- IIBEC credentials such as RRO or REWO
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Autodesk applications, and Microsoft Office
- Hands-on experience performing AAMA or ASTM field testing as a field technician
