Electrical Designer

A nationally recognized MEP consulting firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join its Alpharetta, GA office. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-performance facilities including mission critical, life science, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, project coordination skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities:
Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and controls, backup power (UPS/generators), and renewable energy
Develop technical documentation, system layouts, and specifications
Guide junior engineers and designers in electrical system design
Attend client and project meetings, presenting design concepts and managing expectations
Conduct site surveys, inspections, and punch list reviews
Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates, and code compliance documentation
Stay current with building codes and mission critical standards

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited)
5-10 years of experience in electrical design for mission critical, life science, commercial, or institutional projects
Strong understanding of applicable building, electrical, and energy codes
Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, hands-on approach to design and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications:
PE license or ability to obtain
Experience with data centers and secure facilities
LEED, WELL, or other industry certifications
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite
Project management experience
