Job Title: Environmental Project Manager/Principal
Location: Columbus, OH
We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our growing Environmental Practice in Columbus, Ohio. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead impactful environmental assessment and remediation projects across diverse sectors including real estate, mining, energy, manufacturing, and the public sector. You'll play a key role in client management, business development, and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage environmental site assessment and remediation projects under federal and state regulatory frameworks.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities.
- Prepare and oversee work plans, corrective action plans, and technical reports.
- Guide subsurface investigations and brownfield redevelopment efforts.
- Manage underground storage tank removal, assessment, and remediation projects.
- Conduct environmental due diligence including Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM standards.
- Serve as a client advocate in regulatory negotiations and communications.
- Mentor and support junior team members in technical and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional licensure (Ohio Certified Professional, PG, or in-training status) strongly preferred.
- 5-10+ years of experience managing environmental projects and navigating regulatory compliance.
- Proven expertise in environmental investigation, remediation, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations.
- Experience with grant-funded projects and environmental permitting is a plus.
- Skilled in data management, tabulation, and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Business development experience, particularly in the Midwest region.
