About the Role:

We're seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team, specializing in water and wastewater treatment plant construction. This role involves preparing accurate and competitive Lump Sum, Unit Price, and Construction Management proposals by analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment
  • Perform quantitative take-offs and data analysis
  • Evaluate jurisdictional factors such as climate, labor markets, taxes, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate scope and pricing
  • Utilize estimating and scheduling software to develop proposals
  • Maintain organized records and documentation of estimates

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of technical training and experience will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of experience estimating water or wastewater treatment plant projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods
  • Proficiency in math, complex calculations, and critical thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with jurisdictional regulations and environmental considerations

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with cloud-based applications and construction estimating software
  • Familiarity with scheduling software is a plus
  • Even-tempered and detail-oriented
  • Highly competitive and analytical
  • Strong intuition for forecasting costs and interpreting plans/specs
  • Clear and concise communicator
