Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee civil engineering projects from preliminary design through construction completion
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality with minimal oversight
- Coordinate daily with project teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables
- Communicate regularly with clients, developers, municipal agencies, elected officials, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Establish and manage project budgets; proactively mitigate risks and prevent cost overruns
- Define project milestones and overall completion dates; enforce schedules through delegated project managers
- Review proposals, contracts, invoices, change directives, and billing reports to maintain financial performance
- Allocate staff and resources effectively to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and supervision to project staff, supporting professional growth and development
- Participate in business development efforts, including marketing services and identifying new project opportunities
- Ensure projects comply with applicable design standards, permitting requirements, and safety regulations
- Promote continuous improvement by applying lessons learned and enhancing project management processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; Civil Engineering licensure preferred
- 8+ years of professional experience; 10+ years preferred
- Proven experience delivering at least 20 projects from concept through construction completion
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and infrastructure systems
- Experience working with local and regional jurisdictions on design standards and permitting
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design and data analysis tools (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to balance creative and analytical thinking
