Project Manager/Project Architect - Workplace Interiors

Ziegler Cooper Architects is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager / Project Architect to join our Workplace Interiors Studio. This individual will lead dynamic corporate interiors projects, bringing both design leadership and project management expertise to guide clients and project teams from initial concept through successful completion.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Programming & Visioning - Engage with clients to understand organizational culture, business goals, and spatial needs; facilitate visioning sessions to establish workplace strategies and design direction.

  • Strategic Planning - Translate client objectives into actionable workplace strategies, space plans, and design concepts that reflect innovation, functionality, and brand identity.

  • Project Management - Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including schedule development, budget management, and coordination with consultants, contractors, and vendors.

  • Contracts & Fees - Prepare proposals, establish project fees, and manage contract execution with accountability for scope, resources, and financial performance.

  • Design & Documentation Oversight - Direct project teams through design development, construction documents, and construction administration while maintaining design quality and client expectations.

  • Client Leadership - Serve as primary client contact, fostering trusted relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Team Leadership - Mentor and direct project team members, promoting collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture.

  • Licensed Architect or pursuing licensure preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate interiors or workplace design projects.

  • Strong background in both project management and design leadership.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and related design/management tools.
