Salary Range: $135,000 - $185,000, commensurate with experience
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead and manage complex infrastructure projects throughout the Puget Sound region. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of construction-from preconstruction through project closeout-ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Projects may include roads, bridges, utilities, earthwork, site development, and public works infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil projects from preconstruction through final completion
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts
- Coordinate with superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Administer contracts, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications
- Track quantities, labor production, and overall project performance
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, designers, and regulatory agencies
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and project requirements
- Support estimating and preconstruction efforts on future work
Experience Needed
- 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction
- Proven experience managing projects such as:
- Roads and highways
- Bridges and structural concrete
- Utilities (water, sewer, storm)
- Earthwork and large‑scale site development
- Experience with public works projects and municipal or DOT clients
- Demonstrated success managing subcontractors and self‑perform work
- Familiarity with alternative delivery methods (Design‑Build, GC/CM, CM at Risk) preferred
Qualifications Needed
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means and methods
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Procore, Primavera, MS Project, HCSS, or similar
- Solid cost control, scheduling, and financial management skills
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities
- PE license or PMP certification is a plus, but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $135,000 - $185,000, based on experience
