Project Manager - Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources (Central Texas)
We're seeking a Project Manager to help lead and grow a Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice in Central Texas. This role involves working with clients to pursue, manage, and deliver infrastructure projects that enhance community well-being.
The team provides planning, design, and construction-phase services for a variety of projects - including wastewater treatment plant upgrades, collection system improvements, drinking water plant design, and water distribution systems.
This is a chance to lead impactful projects, develop client relationships, and contribute to regional growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Develops project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Builds and manages detailed project plans.
- Oversees technical direction and resource allocation.
- Leads project meetings and ensures alignment with client expectations.
- Manages scope changes and financial performance.
Client Management
- Understands and meets client needs.
- Recommends solutions to support client goals.
- Engages with client technical staff and supports senior leadership.
- Represents the firm at client meetings and presentations.
Business Development
- Acts as a firm representative in client interactions.
- Supports proposal development and monitors solicitations.
- Meets sales targets through strategic pursuits.
- Leads proposal and interview preparation efforts.
Team Leadership
- Builds effective project teams and assigns tasks.
- Monitors progress and holds team accountable.
- Facilitates team meetings and resolves conflicts.
Project Financials
- Manages scope, cost, and billing issues.
- Maintains tracking tools and develops solutions.
- Ensures timely and accurate billing.
- Achieves profitability targets.
Minimum Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed engineer.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
- Strong client focus and history of repeat business.
- Experience with complex projects across various client types.
- Active involvement in professional organizations.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings.
