Our highly respected geotechnical consulting organization is seeking a Geotechnical Team Lead to join its Seattle office at a principal‑level capacity. This role is designed for a senior engineer with deep technical expertise and proven leadership ability who is ready to play a central role in staff management, project leadership, and strategic growth within the Pacific Northwest.

The position offers a blend of technical excellence, people leadership, and business involvement, with close collaboration alongside other senior and principal engineers. The successful candidate will serve as a mentor, technical authority, and culture‑builder while remaining actively engaged in high‑impact geotechnical work.

What the Role Involves

  • Leading complex geotechnical projects from pursuit through execution and delivery
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing engineering staff across multiple experience levels
  • Providing senior‑level technical oversight, review, and guidance
  • Working closely with other principals and senior leaders on strategy, staffing, and workload planning
  • Supporting business development efforts and strengthening key client relationships
  • Maintaining technical involvement while balancing leadership and management responsibilities

What the Team Is Looking For

  • 12+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (advanced degree preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership or principal‑adjacent role
  • Strong local experience in the Pacific Northwest, with knowledge of regional subsurface conditions
  • A leader who values mentorship, collaboration, and long‑term team development
