Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to lead complex engineering projects and contribute to strategic business development. This leadership role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing high-impact projects, and fostering long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level leadership in engineering and business development strategies to support regional growth.
- Lead planning, design, and construction administration for advanced water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Manage and mentor project engineers, junior engineers, and technical staff.
- Cultivate and expand client relationships; identify and secure new project opportunities.
- Ensure rigorous quality control and assurance across all project phases.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and deliverables with a focus on efficiency and excellence.
- Represent the organization in high-level internal and external meetings.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Extensive experience in water treatment process design.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel for client and project needs.
- Proven ability to manage remote teams and complex projects.
- Must pass pre-employment screenings (background check, drug test, MVR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of consulting experience in water/wastewater engineering.
- Demonstrated success in project management and team leadership.
- Strong client network and business development acumen.
- Familiarity with regional design standards, permitting, and funding programs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk up to 3 miles on uneven terrain.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Occasional climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting (up to 20 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally).
- Ability to inspect equipment and materials.
- May require use of PPE (e.g., flame-resistant clothing, hard hat, protective footwear).
- Flexibility for occasional evening/weekend work and overnight travel.
