Position Overview

As a Restoration Engineer/Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading projects that protect, restore, and extend the life of existing structures. You'll collaborate closely with senior technical leaders, oversee project execution, and mentor emerging restoration professionals. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, thrives in a collaborative environment, and brings a strong understanding of how buildings actually behave in the real world.
You'll be trusted with autonomy, supported with resources, and encouraged to bring forward innovative restoration solutions that meet performance, budget, and constructability needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver restoration and existing-building projects from concept through completion.
  • Provide technical mentorship and day-to-day guidance to restoration technicians and early-career engineers.
  • Perform field investigations, structural assessments, and develop repair strategies across a wide variety of building materials and systems.
  • Work collaboratively with architects, owners, contractors, and internal teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of technical excellence, documentation, and client communication.
  • Support planning, scheduling, and project coordination efforts with the Restoration Department Manager.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in restoration, existing building evaluations, or structural engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of building materials, framing systems, and construction practices.
  • Engineering degree or PE licensure preferred, but not strictly required for the right candidate.
  • Practical problem-solving abilities and strong engineering judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort managing multiple technical priorities.
  • A passion for buildings, investigating problems, and delivering practical, cost-effective solutions.
