Restoration Structural Engineer
Location: Madison or Milwaukee, WI
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver restoration and existing-building projects from concept through completion.
- Provide technical mentorship and day-to-day guidance to restoration technicians and early-career engineers.
- Perform field investigations, structural assessments, and develop repair strategies across a wide variety of building materials and systems.
- Work collaboratively with architects, owners, contractors, and internal teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Maintain high standards of technical excellence, documentation, and client communication.
- Support planning, scheduling, and project coordination efforts with the Restoration Department Manager.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in restoration, existing building evaluations, or structural engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of building materials, framing systems, and construction practices.
- Engineering degree or PE licensure preferred, but not strictly required for the right candidate.
- Practical problem-solving abilities and strong engineering judgment.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort managing multiple technical priorities.
- A passion for buildings, investigating problems, and delivering practical, cost-effective solutions.
