An established employee-owned engineering consulting firm is seeking an Engineering Market Sector Principal to lead and expand its Infrastructure Practice across the public works market. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on developing client relationships, mentoring teams, winning work, and delivering impactful infrastructure projects.
You'll play a critical role in shaping the future of the practice while leading complex water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects throughout a growing region.
What You'll Be Doing
As a key leader within the organization, you will:
- Drive strategic growth initiatives throughout the water, wastewater, and infrastructure market
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public-sector clients and key stakeholders
- Lead business development efforts, proposals, pursuits, and contract negotiations
- Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring successful delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and quality
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams and provide technical leadership on complex infrastructure projects
- Mentor, develop, and inspire the next generation of engineering leaders
- Guide resource planning, financial performance, and operational execution
- Lead client workshops, visioning sessions, and strategic discussions
- Champion innovation, collaboration, and sustainable infrastructure solutions
- Help grow an already successful practice through organic market expansion and client development
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 12+ years of engineering consulting experience
- Minimum 5 years of project management and leadership experience
- Strong background delivering public infrastructure, water, and wastewater projects
- Demonstrated success in client development and business growth
- Experience managing teams, financial performance, and project delivery
- Ability to develop trusted client relationships and generate repeat business
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
