Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to join a growing land development practice in Columbus. This individual will play a key role in managing projects, leading technical teams, developing client relationships, and supporting the continued expansion of the business.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high quality engineering solutions while helping clients navigate projects from initial planning and design through permitting and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage civil engineering and land development projects from due diligence through construction.
  • Lead project teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the preparation of site development plans, grading plans, stormwater management systems, utility layouts, and construction documents.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall project performance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, and permitting authorities.
  • Review engineering deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, designers, and project staff.
  • Support business development efforts through client engagement, proposal preparation, and networking activities.
  • Contribute to strategic growth initiatives within the Columbus office and broader regional team.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering and land development.
  • Proven track record managing projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Strong experience with site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience mentoring technical staff and leading project teams.
  • Business development experience is highly valued.
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, institutional, or energy related projects is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $90,000 to $140,000
