About the Company

A well-regarded Pacific Northwest civil engineering firm with over two decades of experience in land development is growing its project management team. The firm has built a strong regional reputation for quality delivery across residential, commercial, public, and utility infrastructure projects and operates with a culture of accountability, direct client relationships, and close collaboration between staff and senior leadership.

The Role

A project management position with full technical and operational ownership across the entire project lifecycle. You'll manage client relationships, lead multidisciplinary teams, fulfill Engineer of Record responsibilities, and contribute actively to business development - all while working directly alongside principal engineers and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Technical

  • Lead design and technical execution across civil engineering projects
  • Perform, review, and approve calculations, reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents
  • Fulfill Engineer of Record responsibilities in accordance with Washington State licensing requirements
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and quality standards
  • Support construction through site visits, RFI responses, and technical recommendations

Project Management

  • Manage multiple projects from proposal through completion
  • Develop and monitor project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Review and approve invoices and monitor financial performance
  • Manage change orders, contract modifications, and accounts receivable
  • Identify and manage project risks and implement corrective actions

Client and Business Development

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and repeat business
  • Prepare SOQs, proposals, and technical presentations
  • Represent the firm in meetings with clients, agencies, and industry stakeholders

Leadership

  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary project teams
  • Assign, prioritize, and review work of engineering staff
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and foster staff development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • Washington State PE license
  • 8+ years of civil engineering experience
  • Private-sector land development experience required
  • Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D and Bluebeam
  • Valid Washington State driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multi-state PE licensure
  • Public-sector project experience
  • Construction field experience
  • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management
