About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join a growing preconstruction team supporting commercial electrical construction projects throughout the Pittsburgh market. This role is responsible for managing the estimating process from initial bid review through final tender submission while ensuring accurate labor, material, and equipment pricing.

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, and management to evaluate opportunities, analyze project risks, and develop competitive estimates that support successful project execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate labor and material cost estimates for electrical construction projects.
  • Prepare complete bid packages and tender documentation.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements to develop pricing strategies.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and scope reviews.
  • Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations to identify the best overall project value.
  • Evaluate technical requirements and project scope to establish pricing and expected margins.
  • Utilize estimating software and online bid platforms to prepare and submit proposals.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders throughout the estimating and preconstruction process.
  • Identify project risks and provide recommendations to management.
  • Monitor market conditions, labor trends, and material escalation factors.
  • Compare and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing following bid submission.
  • Maintain accurate estimate records and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in bid reviews and project handoff meetings when required.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid.
  • Experience utilizing online bidding and tender management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods and systems.
  • Ability to interpret complex project drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and cost evaluation skills.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to estimate accuracy.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience estimating electrical scopes.
  • Relevant estimating or construction certifications.
  • Experience supporting commercial construction projects from bid stage through award.
  • Understanding of market pricing trends and risk analysis.
