A growing environmental and occupational health consulting firm is seeking a Mid-Level Industrial Hygienist to support a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, institutional, and public-sector projects throughout Michigan.
This position offers a blend of field work, client interaction, technical reporting, and project management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys working directly with clients, conducting field assessments, and developing practical solutions to workplace health and safety challenges.
Responsibilities
Conduct industrial hygiene assessments and exposure monitoring programs
Perform air sampling, noise monitoring, and occupational exposure evaluations
Complete asbestos, lead, mold, and indoor air quality investigations
Conduct site inspections and assist with regulatory compliance assessments
Prepare technical reports, data summaries, and client deliverables
Manage project schedules, field activities, and client communications
Coordinate with contractors, facility managers, and regulatory agencies
Support proposal development and project planning efforts
Maintain field equipment and ensure proper documentation of sampling activities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field
3-8 years of industrial hygiene or environmental consulting experience
Experience with exposure assessments, air monitoring, and workplace evaluations
Knowledge of OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Michigan
Preferred Qualifications
CIH, CSP, or progress toward certification
Asbestos, lead, mold, or radon credentials
40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, or commercial clients
Environmental compliance experience is a plus
