Offshore DCS Engineer - INFI90
Location: Offshore (Santa Barbara Coast, California)
Rotation: 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off or 3 Weeks On / 1 Week Off
Compensation: $90+/Hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced DCS Engineer to support offshore oil and gas production operations located off the coast of Santa Barbara. This role is focused exclusively on ABB INFI90 control systems and requires a hands-on controls professional capable of supporting programming, troubleshooting, system modifications, and ongoing operational improvements in a live production environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot control logic within ABB INFI90 DCS platforms.
- Support day-to-day production operations through system optimization and performance improvements.
- Diagnose and resolve control system issues impacting production, reliability, and safety.
- Work directly with offshore operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
- Support system upgrades, testing, implementation, and control system enhancements.
- Participate in commissioning, startup, and validation activities related to DCS modifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system changes, programming modifications, and operational improvements.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with site safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience working with DCS systems in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial process environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with ABB INFI90 systems is required.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and modifying control systems in live production environments.
- Strong understanding of process control, instrumentation, and industrial automation systems.
- Ability to work independently in remote and offshore environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Previous offshore oil & gas experience.
- Experience supporting production facilities, refineries, petrochemical plants, or power generation assets.
- Experience with commissioning, startup, migrations, and operational support projects.
Schedule & Travel
- Rotational schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on / 1 week off.
- Offshore assignment located off the Santa Barbara coastline.
- All flights, lodging, transportation, and offshore accommodations are fully covered.
- Long-term assignment supporting critical offshore production operations.
Compensation
- $90+ per hour, depending on experience and INFI90 expertise.
