About the Opportunity

A growing structural engineering consultancy is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer to join its team in the New York City area. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of new construction and existing building projects across the United States while collaborating with experienced engineers and industry professionals.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Successful candidates will receive hands-on training in structural design, industry software, and project delivery while working alongside multidisciplinary teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the structural design of new buildings and rehabilitation/restoration of existing structures.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and foundation systems.
  • Utilize industry-standard design software and digital tools.
  • Support project teams in delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Participate in technical training and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to company standards, safety requirements, and ethical practices.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as project and business needs evolve.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 0-4 years of professional experience (internship experience acceptable).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with structural design concepts and engineering principles.
  • Understanding of relevant building codes and construction practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software such as Revit.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
  • Ability to accommodate occasional travel and project-specific schedules when required.

Preferred

  • Recent or upcoming graduate in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Internship or co-op experience within a structural engineering environment.
  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar engineering software.
