Project Manager (Mechanical Construction)

A leading mechanical contractor is actively seeking a Project Manager to join its growing Houston team. With a strong backlog of secured work through next summer and individual project values ranging from $30M-$100M+, this is an opportunity to join a highly respected contractor that continues to expand across Texas.

The company specializes in complex mechanical systems for advanced manufacturing, industrial facilities, mission-critical environments, data center-adjacent projects, research facilities, and healthcare developments. Their work is largely repeat-business driven, providing long-term project stability and strong growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Oversee project financials, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, and client relationships.
• Coordinate with field leadership, superintendents, foremen, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Drive communication between owners, general contractors, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Support business growth by delivering exceptional project outcomes and maintaining client relationships.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Preferred Background

• Experience managing commercial or industrial mechanical construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, process cooling, or large-scale mechanical systems.
• Data center, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, healthcare, laboratory, or mission-critical project experience highly preferred.
• Ability to manage fast-paced, technically complex projects with demanding schedules.
• Experience working with projects ranging from $10M to $100M+ in mechanical value.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-moving project environment and enjoys working on large, technically challenging builds. While data center and advanced manufacturing experience would be a major advantage, candidates from healthcare, higher education, industrial, and other complex commercial environments will also be considered.

Candidates with a background focused solely on multifamily construction may be less aligned with the company's project portfolio.

Additional Information

This position can be based in Houston, though candidates open to travel throughout Texas will also be considered. The company maintains ongoing work across Houston, Austin, El Paso, and other key Texas markets.
