What You'll Be Leading
As the Director of Preconstruction, you will oversee all aspects of project planning, estimating, design coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and client engagement before construction begins.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the organization's preconstruction strategy and operations
- Managing design development, budgeting, estimating, and planning efforts
- Overseeing multiple projects simultaneously from concept through turnover to operations
- Partnering with architects, engineers, consultants, and trade partners to deliver efficient solutions
- Driving value engineering initiatives and identifying opportunities for cost savings
- Reviewing designs for constructability, cost impacts, and schedule alignment
- Presenting project budgets, schedules, and strategic recommendations to clients and executive leadership
- Supporting business development efforts, proposal development, and project pursuits
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners
- Ensuring project planning aligns with company goals, budgets, and schedules
- Providing mentorship and leadership to estimating and preconstruction staff
- Supporting seamless project transitions from preconstruction to field operations

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- 7+ years of preconstruction, estimating, design management, or commercial construction experience
- Experience leading preconstruction efforts on industrial and commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of design-build delivery methods
- Proven ability to manage teams and lead multiple concurrent projects
- Experience developing conceptual and detailed budgets
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, and estimating
- Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
Technical Experience
Experience with the following is preferred:
- Bluebeam
- Revit
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Construction estimating and project management software platforms
