About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and bilingual Project Director to lead the construction of advanced manufacturing facilities in Japan. This is a high-impact role within a globally recognized Tier-1 company, offering the opportunity to oversee complex, cutting-edge projects in a dynamic and fast-growing sector.

Based in Osaka, you will be responsible for managing the full life cycle of construction projects-from planning and execution to delivery-ensuring alignment with international standards, local regulations, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the construction of advanced manufacturing buildings, including clean rooms, high-tech production spaces, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Manage cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors in both English and Japanese.
  • Monitor project progress, risk, and compliance, and provide strategic direction to resolve challenges.
  • Drive collaboration between global and local teams, ensuring cultural and operational alignment.
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on project status, KPIs, and financials.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager in large-scale construction projects, ideally in advanced manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese (spoken and written).
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of Japanese construction regulations and business culture.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead diverse teams.
  • Engineering or construction-related degree preferred.
