Project Engineer
Responsibilities
- Perform structural observations and site visits on active construction projects throughout the greater Los Angeles region.
- Review structural and architectural plans to evaluate field conditions and construction progress.
- Coordinate with project managers regarding project scope, schedules, and site-specific requirements.
- Schedule and communicate with general contractors to arrange site observations.
- Document field conditions through photographs and detailed observation reports.
- Prepare site observation reports following each visit.
- Collaborate with contractors and internal engineering teams to resolve field-related challenges.
- Develop sketches and technical solutions to address construction issues as they arise.
- Conduct follow-up visits to verify that identified deficiencies have been properly corrected.
- Organize travel schedules and site itineraries to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
- Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Strong structural engineering design background.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Experience with commercial, seismic retrofit, mixed-use, or residential projects preferred.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently in the field and collaboratively within a project team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
