San Antonio | Surveyor in Training
A well-established Texas-based engineering and surveying firm is seeking a Surveyor in Training (SIT) to join its growing San Antonio team. This is an excellent opportunity for a survey professional looking to accelerate their path toward RPLS licensure while gaining exposure to a diverse mix of transportation, municipal, land development, utility, and public infrastructure projects across Texas.

Responsibilities
- Support boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, route, utility, and construction surveys.
- Assist with survey calculations, data processing, and quality control reviews.
- Prepare survey plats, legal descriptions, easement exhibits, and other survey deliverables.
- Process field data using survey software and coordinate with field crews.
- Conduct deed research, title review, and boundary analysis.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to support project execution.
- Assist in developing survey control networks and mapping products.
- Ensure compliance with Texas surveying standards and firm QA/QC procedures.
Qualifications
- Surveyor in Training (SIT) certification in Texas or actively pursuing certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred.
- 1-5 years of surveying experience.
- Familiarity with boundary surveys, topographic mapping, and construction staking.
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, MicroStation, or similar survey software.
- Strong understanding of Texas land surveying principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Experience
- Transportation corridor or TxDOT survey experience.
- Municipal infrastructure and utility projects.
- ALTA/NSPS surveys.
- Easement and right-of-way mapping.
- Drone, LiDAR, or reality capture technologies.
