Role Overview
As a Senior Civil Project Manager, you will lead land development and civil engineering projects from initial planning and design through permitting and construction. This position combines technical leadership, project management, client relationship management, and team mentorship.
Working alongside architects, engineers, and other technical professionals, you will oversee project execution, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project schedules and budgets, and ensure successful delivery of civil site development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage land development and civil engineering projects from conception through construction.
- Lead site planning, grading, utility, drainage, and stormwater design efforts.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate permitting activities and approvals with local agencies and regulatory authorities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and mentor engineers and technical staff, reviewing work for quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to develop comprehensive construction documents.
- Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and resolving field-related issues.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Strong background in land development and civil site design.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously from design through construction.
- Knowledge of grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management, and permitting processes.
- Proven project management experience, including budgeting and scheduling responsibilities.
- Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Proficiency with industry-standard civil engineering design software.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $120,000 - $185,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
