A leading international engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its collaborative team in New York City. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile land development and infrastructure projects while contributing to innovative, technically challenging solutions.
About the Role
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering geotechnical design and analysis across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, supporting both office-based design and field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Designgeotechnical systems including:
- Earth structures
- Deep foundations
- Retaining walls
- Support of excavation and underpinning systems
- Coordinate field investigations and construction activities
- Support project management, including scheduling and execution
- Oversee geotechnical investigations and construction inspections
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, logs, and field documentation
- Conduct site visits and fieldwork as required
- Collaborate with internal teams on complex development projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of relevant geotechnical experience
- Experience with:
- Geotechnical investigations and reporting
- Construction inspections
- Earthwork, piling, load testing, and retaining systems
- Familiarity with industry software such as:
- gINT, PLAXIS, LPILE, GRLWEAP, SLOPE/W, MSEW, SHAKE
- PE certification preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Willingness to perform fieldwork and travel locally
- Valid driver's license required
