What You'll Be Working On
Projects may include:
- Stormwater master planning
- Watershed and basin studies
- Floodplain analysis and FEMA-related studies
- Flood mitigation and resiliency projects
- Hydraulic and hydrologic modeling
- Stormwater management system design
- Water quality improvement projects
- Municipal infrastructure and capital improvement programs
- Culvert and conveyance system analysis
- Drainage studies and design
- Sea level rise and coastal resilience evaluations
- SWFWMD, municipal, county, and state-funded projects
- Large-scale watershed modeling and planning initiatives
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for a variety of water resources projects.
- Develop and manage models using ICPR/StormWise and other industry-standard software.
- Prepare technical reports, drainage studies, watershed evaluations, and engineering documents.
- Support planning, design, permitting, and implementation of stormwater and water resources projects.
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, municipalities, and project stakeholders.
- Lead technical tasks and contribute to project delivery efforts.
- Mentor junior staff and collaborate with senior technical experts.
- Support business development activities and client relationship management as your career progresses.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows through innovation, automation, and AI-assisted engineering tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 7+ years of relevant water resources engineering experience.
- Strong experience in stormwater, drainage, hydraulic, and hydrologic engineering.
- Experience with ICPR/StormWise is required.
- Experience with hydraulic andhydrologicmodeling software such as:
- ICPR / StormWise
- HEC-RAS
- SWMM
- HY-8
- ArcGIS
- Experience preparing technical reports and engineering analyses.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Experience
- Municipal stormwater and drainage projects.
- Watershed planning and flood mitigation programs.
- FEMA floodplain studies and flood mapping.
- Water management district projects.
- Resiliency and climate adaptation studies.
- Project management or task leadership experience.
