Structural Engineer
- Perform structural analysis, calculations, and design for new and existing buildings (with an emphasis on masonry systems)
- Develop design narratives, calculation packages, and construction documents suitable for permitting and construction
- Review drawings/submittals; respond to RFIs; provide construction-phase support and site observations as needed
- Conduct field assessments of existing structures and prepare repair/strengthening concepts where applicable
- Coordinate across disciplines internally (civil, surveying, environmental) to ensure cohesive project outcomes
- Communicate directly with public-sector stakeholders and end users, supporting clear expectations, schedules, and deliverables
- Contribute to quality control and mentoring of junior staff (as appropriate)
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis preferred) from an ABET-accredited program
- Active PE license (required)
- 5+ years of progressive structural engineering experience (buildings)
- Demonstrated structural masonry design experience (reinforced masonry preferred)
- Experience with commercial buildings; plus meaningful project exposure in municipal and/or education environments
- Proficiency with current U.S. building codes/standards relevant to buildings and masonry design (e.g., IBC, ASCE 7, TMS/ACI as applicable)
- Strong writing/communication skills and comfort interfacing with clients and project stakeholders
- Experience evaluating and renovating existing masonry buildings
- Familiarity with construction administration and site observation practices
- Experience supporting public agency projects (documentation rigor, stakeholder coordination, schedule sensitivity)
- Base salary: $100,000-$140,000, depending on experience and fit.
