Survey Manager / Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
The Survey Manager / Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) will be responsible for:
- Leading all aspects of the surveying and geomatics department, including field operations and office-based technical staff.
- Managing survey services for public and private sector land improvement and development projects.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, project stakeholders, government officials, and industry partners.
- Planning, organizing, and supervising survey crews, technicians, and support personnel.
- Overseeing project schedules, resource allocation, contract administration, and project delivery.
- Providing technical guidance on survey computations, plat preparation, mapping, and quality assurance standards.
- Solving complex surveying challenges through innovative approaches while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
The Survey Manager / Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) should have the following qualifications:
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure in North Carolina and/or South Carolina preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive surveying management experience, ideally supporting residential and commercial development projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and Trimble survey equipment.
- Experience managing survey data collection, processing, and deliverables using Trimble or Android-based platforms.
- Thorough understanding of GPS technology and modern surveying methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, project management, and client-facing communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Google Earth is a plus.
- Ability to pass a drug screen, background check, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
