Senior Water Resources Practice Leader
Location: Denver Metro Area, Colorado (Hybrid)
Our client is a well-established engineering and environmental consulting firm seeking a senior-level water resources professional to help lead and expand its presence throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced engineer or water resources specialist with a strong background in Colorado water rights, water supply planning, and client development. The successful candidate will play a key role in technical project delivery, business development, team leadership, and strategic growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex water resources and water supply projects throughout Colorado.
- Provide technical expertise related to water rights, water availability, planning, and management.
- Support and grow client relationships across municipal, utility, and private sector markets.
- Develop new business opportunities and contribute to long-term market growth.
- Lead project pursuits, proposals, and strategic initiatives.
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams and mentor developing staff.
- Oversee technical quality, project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Prepare and review technical memoranda, reports, studies, and presentations.
- Communicate technical findings to clients, stakeholders, and decision-makers.
- Support water rights evaluations, supply assessments, modeling efforts, and regulatory processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Geology, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of relevant water resources experience.
- Strong understanding of Colorado water rights and water resource management practices.
- Experience with water supply planning, water accounting, stream system analysis, modeling, or related technical areas.
- Demonstrated success managing clients and developing business opportunities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Expert witness or litigation support experience is a plus.
