Water Resources Project Manager

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience

Our client is seeking an experienced Water Resources Project Manager to join a growing Public Works team delivering impactful infrastructure, environmental, and water resource projects across New England and the Northeast. This is a high-priority strategic hire and offers the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful projects while helping shape the future growth of the practice.

This role is ideal for a consulting professional with at least 7 years of experience managing water resources, stormwater, drainage, watershed, municipal infrastructure, environmental, or related public works projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects from proposal through delivery, managing client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and supporting business development efforts.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage and deliver a diverse portfolio of water resources and public infrastructure projects for municipal, state, federal, and private-sector clients.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications, and permit applications.
  • Support proposal development, client management, and business development initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with environmental, transportation, aviation, and municipal infrastructure teams across the organisation.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant consulting experience.
  • Proven project management experience delivering water resources, stormwater, drainage, municipal infrastructure, or environmental projects.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence preferred or ability to obtain if not already licensed
