Air Quality Engineer
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented environmental professional to lead and support air quality permitting and compliance projects. In this hybrid or fully remote role, you will work closely with clients across various industries to evaluate emissions, prepare regulatory documentation, and develop strategies for environmental compliance and sustainability reporting. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists, providing technical guidance and mentorship while managing project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing permit applications for new and existing facilities in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Performing emissions calculations and evaluating regulatory applicability at multiple jurisdictional levels.
- Drafting compliance reports and submitting documentation to regulatory bodies.
- Reviewing emissions testing data and supporting air dispersion modeling efforts.
- Advising clients on compliance strategies and regulatory pathways.
- Participating in proposal development and project planning.
- Communicating with clients and regulatory agencies as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in air quality consulting, regulatory compliance, or a related industry.
- Experience with air dispersion modeling tools such as AERMOD.
- Strong understanding of U.S. EPA air quality regulations and permitting processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental projects and client relationships.
- MUST have experience in Illinois.
