BAS Sales Engineer

About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close new BAS sales opportunities
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead qualification to contract award
- Engage with consulting engineers, owners, and contractors to influence specifications
- Develop technical and commercial proposals, estimates, and system concepts
- Support design‑build and plan‑and‑spec projects
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth project handover
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify upsell opportunities
- Track pipeline activity and forecast revenue accurately
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years' experience in BAS / Controls sales or sales engineering
- Strong technical knowledge of Building Automation Systems (HVAC controls, integration, analytics)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Ability to translate technical solutions into clear business value
- Experience selling into commercial buildings, healthcare, education, or mission‑critical environments
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Comfortable working autonomously in a field‑based sales role
Technology Experience (one or more preferred)
- Tridium Niagara
- Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, or similar BAS platforms
- Familiarity with networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, IP)
